SAVE THE DATE : Elevate Your Coaching Skills – Pitching Instruction Workshops for Coaches and Players

We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for coaches to deepen their knowledge and expertise in pitching.

In partnership with BaseballSoftballUK(BSUK), the British Baseball Federation (BBF) is hosting a dedicated weekend of coaching education focused on teaching pitching.

Dates: Saturday 9th November and Sunday 10th November 2024

Location: 108 Baseball Indoor Facility

This workshop is designed to equip coaches with the necessary skills and techniques to effectively teach pitching, organise pitching clinics, and provide individual instruction.

The programme will cover the technical aspects of pitching, ensuring that coaches fully understand the mechanics and strategies essential for success on the mound.

In addition to the technical training, the workshop will also explore the soft skills required to enhance your coaching delivery.

You will learn how to conduct engaging and effective sessions that not only improve skills but also create a positive and motivating environment for your players.

This event has been generously subsidised by funds from individual player registrations, making it accessible to all coaches who are keen to develop their abilities.

The BBF Pitching Workshop is the first of three innovative coaching education initiatives aimed at developing the core skills within our sport, under the exciting new "Elevate Series."

This workshop, focused on pitching, marks the starting point in a broader plan that will include two more workshops on hitting and fielding.

However, the benefits of these workshops extend far beyond just refining technical skills – they are designed to provide coaches with invaluable experience, support, and growth opportunities.

From a coaching perspective, the Elevate Pitching Workshop is a game-changer. Not only does it offer a structured programme that guides coaches through the fundamentals of pitching, but it also presents an opportunity for coaches to gain hands-on experience in running a specialised pitching programme developed by the BBF.

This experience is vital for coaches looking to expand their skill set, build confidence, and gain practical insights into the art of coaching.

One of the key benefits of the Elevate Pitching Workshop is its focus on evaluating coaches and identifying suitable candidates to run regional clinics.

This initiative creates a unique pathway for coaches to step up and take on a more significant role within the community, leading clinics that can be accessed by local clubs across their region.

The support network provided by the BBF will ensure that coaches are not alone in this endeavour – they will have access to resources, guidance, and mentorship from experienced leaders in the sport.

For regional clubs, this means greater access to specialised pitching clinics and support, which might otherwise be unavailable.

The BBF designs the clinics, providing a comprehensive weekly plan that local coaches can follow.

Coaches and pitchers alike benefit from the structured approach, gaining valuable experiences that enhance their development.

The clinics have the potential to become a fixture in the annual training calendar, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth for both coaches and players.

These workshops are not just about developing skills; they are about shaping the future of our community.

By investing in our coaches and giving them opportunities to learn and lead, we are ultimately raising the standard of our sport.

Just like renowned coaches such as Will Lintern and Liam Carroll, who honed their craft through extensive experience with BSUK as coaches, this initiative provides an avenue for aspiring coaches to grow and make their mark.

The Elevate Series workshops provide more opportunities for our coaches to evolve.

They offer a valuable addition to the journey of any coach, presenting new challenges, hands-on experience, and a network of support that will empower them to become the best version of themselves.

Ultimately, these workshops are about more than just improving skills – they are about cultivating a community of passionate, skilled coaches who are ready to elevate their game and inspire the next generation of athletes.

Further details on registration will be available soon.
